Ebenfeld Poultry Barn Heat

Specializing in free-run poultry and pullet farming, the facility faced the significant challenge of safeguarding their flocks against frigid Canadian temperatures. The BioTherm DuoFin® system demonstrated its efficiency and reliability during the harsh winter months. Despite external temperatures plummeting to -40°C, the heating system efficiently raised the barn’s internal temperature to a comfortable 36°C in a short time.

The Challenge

Specializing in free-run poultry and pullet farming, the facility faced the significant challenge of safeguarding their flocks against frigid Canadian temperatures. Maintaining optimal conditions was crucial for the well-being of their chickens and sustaining their impressive egg production of 25,000 eggs per day.

The Solution

To provide even, soft warm heat, DuoFin® was installed along the perimeter of both barns. The DuoFin® pipes were separated into two stacks, one of 6 and one of 5, hanging parallel from the fin above. The results of this investment were exceptional. The DuoFin® system demonstrated its efficiency and reliability during the harsh winter months. Despite external temperatures plummeting to -40°C, the heating system efficiently raised the barn’s internal temperature to a comfortable 36°C in a short time.

How It Works

BioTherm DuoFin® heating system runs along the sidewall of the poultry barns, suspended above the floor to create a convection draft. Heat rises up, heating the open areas of the barns where the chicks roam. Made of aluminium, DuoFin® never needs painting and will never rust, providing years of maintenance-free service.
