Although most greenhouse operations primarily use unit heaters because they’re relatively inexpensive, the forward thinkers are putting in centralized hot water systems with boilers and those systems are substantially more efficient and greener. And the newest iteration of boilers, called “low-mass boilers”, handle natural fluctuations of a greenhouse environment better than a regular old high-mass boiler might. And they can respond to these fluctuations more quickly.
